Our
Secondary School applies an educational approach based on the Stella Maris
College Mission, which aims at:
- Providing a holistic education for our students with
two broad objectives: to strengthen academic preparation essential to
live up to the challenges of our world, as well as to develop in our
students their commitment to the Christian faith and values experiencing
the charisma of the founder of the Christian Brothers Congregation
- Edmund Rice.
- Preparing 'holistic students' ready to take active
part in their community and become active agents of evangelic values.

- Providing our students with a strong academic profile
following the Uruguayan National Curriculum, with a strong emphasis
on the achievement of competence in English as a Second Language,
in Information Technology and Physical Education and Sports.
Offering support coaching lessons in the areas of language, reasoning
and 'learning to learn' strategies, as well as revision lessons
for those students who need to recover aspects of syllabus that have
been missed.
- Supplementing our pedagogical proposal with personalized
support offered to our students at psychological level, seeking a harmonious
development where the school comes in support of the family.
- Implementing extra-curricular activities (integration
activities, camping, educational outings and field trips, and both domestic
and international sporting exchanges) aiming at supplementing the curricular
proposal with formative experiences.
Throughout
the six years of secondary education the students and their families
will meet an experienced and fully qualified teaching staff (including
subject teachers, assistant teachers and heads of department)
who have specialized and are constantly developing as educators.
